Ski-ing / Snowboarding – From June to early October each year Queenstown is transformed into the Southern Hemisphere’s most vibrant ski resort. With 3 ski fields within an easy drive / bus ride – Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Cardrona everyone to novices to experienced riders can find a slope to suit them.
Coronet View is closest to Coronet Peak Ski Field, just a 15 min drive to the bottom of the access road. Our self contained, ensuite Queenstown apartments are ideal for groups who want to be independent while on holiday. Warm & cosy, with super comfortable beds and a guest laundry we are a great choice for a Queenstown ski holiday.
Jet Boating – Operating year round Queenstown is famous for its’ spectacular canyons, cascading water and thrill seeking visitors. Several companies operate in town with the most famous – Shotover Jet being the only company permitted to operate in the Shotover Canyon – just 10 mins drive from Coronet View.
TSS Earnslaw & Walter Peak Farm Tour – this popular family activity includes a lake cruise on the TSS Earnslaw steamship and dining options & farm tour at the Walter Peak Farm Station across the lake from Queenstown. Operated by Real Journeys the tours operate every day, year round.
Skyline Gondola & Luging – You can’t miss the Skyline Gondola which sits high up on the pine covered mountain overlooking Queenstown. Ride a gondola to the base building which offers lots of great dining options and the Skyline Luge track – fun go karting for the whole family.
Queenstown Adventure Activities – Known as the ‘Adventure Capital of the World’ Queenstown offers a wealth of adrenaline seeking activities – here are just a selection:
- Bungy Jumping – Queenstown is the home of bungy jumping and offers 3 different jumping off points – the Kawarau Bridge, The Ledge and Nevis Bungy. All require nerves of steel and are operated by AJ Hackett Bungy
- Skydiving – Imagine free-falling above a scenic vista of snowcapped mountains and lake. Queenstown has to be one of the best skydiving locations in the world – contact NZONE.
- Helicopter Tours – Whether you want to play in the snow, see a glacier up close or take a scenic tour of Fiordland National Park & Milford Sound then a helicopter tours should be on your bucket list. There are several operators in town – Heliworks or Glacier Southern Lakes are two of our recommendations.
